Music. Music is what brought us together. Music united us once again.
As parents who are busy all week and then come home to our real jobs as, uh, parents we seemed to be going through the motions. Our conversations became short…we spoke in parallel lines.
“What do you want to watch?”
“I don’t know.”
“What do you want to eat?”
“Whatever you want.”
I was getting upset and very emotional (and rightfully so).
But it all came back one night on the way to see Wilco. We clumsily apologized for acting like children. For ignoring us. That can’t happen.
And the show was amazing by the way. I shed the tears I needed to… I sang and danced my heart out. And we emerged from the show as two kids rehashing probably the best Wilco show ever.
We shared that moment together.
And music brought it all back.
